(다운받는 디렉토리에는 기존 ROM upgrade시 사용된 어떤 파일이나 폴더가 있으면 안 된다.) 2. 다운받은 파일은 실행시키고 화면의 지시사항대로 특정 디렉토리에 ROM update 파일을 unpack시킨다. 3. UpgradeUt.exe 파일을 실행시키고 지시사항을 따른다. 4. 1번에서 다운받은 압축화일은 삭제시켜도 무방하다. 5. 인스톨이 끝나면 압축화일을 푼 디렉토리를 삭제해도 무방하다. ○ 인스톨時 주의사항 1. Upgrade 작업時, ROM Upgrade 유틸리티는 - 기존 ROM 버전을 확인한다. - Update할 ROM 버전이 Pocket PC와 호환가능한지를 체크한다. - 기존 ROM 버전을 back-up할 지를 확인한다. - 신규 ROM 버전으로 update하거나 기존 ROM 버전으로 복원한다. 2. 중요! : Upgrade時 화면보호기나 절전기능 등을 해지하고 실시한다. Upgrade 작업이 진행時 상기 기능이 수행되면 치명적인 error가 발생할 수 있다. 3. 액티브싱크 3.1 이상에서 수행 가능하다. 4. 중요! : Upgrade 작업이 진행 중일 때, iPAQ을 조작하거나 크래들에서 제거하지 말 것. Upgrae 작업간 iPAQ은 자동적으로 reset된다. 5. Upgrade작업은 host PC에 파트너쉽이 있거나 guest 상태로 접속해도 가능하다. 6. Upgrade 작업은 RAM에 저장되어 있는 data나 program은 변경시키지 않는다. 그러나 ROM upgrade 작업前 RAM에 저장되어 있는 자료에 대한 전체 back-up을 수행하기를 권장한다. 7. ROM upgrade後, 기존의 ROM 버전에서 back-up한 RAM에 저장된 data 및 program이 Upgrade한 ROM 버전에서 복원되지 않을 수 있다. 그러므로 ROM upgrade가 성공적으로 끝나면 바로 전체 back-up을 수행하기를 권장한다. 8. Upgrade 작업간 에러가 발생하면, 에러 대화박스에 나타난 지시사항대로 조치한다. 9. iPAQ 기기와 호환불가능한 ROM 버전은 인스톨 또는 복원할 수 없다. ex) 영문 사용 iPAQ에 불어 버전을 인스톨하는 경우 등 10. 생략 11. Upgrade 작업이 성공적으로 수행되면 모든 하드웨어 버튼은 초기상태로 돌아간다. □ 적용기기 : iPAQ 3600 시리즈 ---------------- 영 문 설 명 -------------------------------------- □ The Utility performs the following: - Replaces the current ROM image on your device with an updated version. - Backs up your current ROM image, if desired. - Restores a previous ROM image, if desired. □ SOFTWARE INFORMATION ○ Fixes - Provides IBM Microdrive recognition. - Provides extended battery fault warning message upon Expansion Pack insertion. - Provides PCMCIA detection on socket 1 of the Dual Slots Expansion Pack. - Fixes connecting issue via serial port to Windows NT 4.0 . ○ Enhancements - Adds Full Duplex Audio Support. - Expansion pack interrupts to Wake on Ring. □ Notes - This Update replaces the current ROM image with ROM image version 1.87. - PURPOSE: Recommended Update □ Installation ○ HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive (NOTE: this directory should not contain any file or folder from any previous ROM Upgrade). The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to unpacking the ROM Update files to a directory. 3. Excecute the UpgradeUt.exe file to begin the upgrade process and follow the instructions displayed by the ROM Upgrade Utility. 4. You may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step 1 if you wish. 5. After the installation is completed, you may delete the directory created in step 2 if you wish. ○ INSTALLATION NOTES: 1. During the upgrade, the ROM Upgrade Utility will: - Query your device for current ROM image information. - Validate that the new ROM image is compatible with your device. - Allow you to back up your current ROM image. - Update or restore the ROM image on your device. 2. Important: Disable the standby and hibernation modes on your host PC. If standby or hibernation are activated during the upgrade process, a critical error may occur. 3. The ROM Upgrade Utility requires ActiveSync 3.1 or greater. 4. Important: Do not interact with your device or remove it from the cradle or cable unless instructed to do so. During the upgrade process, your device will be reset automatically. 5. The upgrade process can be performed on a device connecting to a host PC as an established partnership or as a guest. 6. The upgrade process does not alter data or programs stored in RAM. Compaq recommends a device backup before performing a ROM upgrade as a precautionary measure. This backup should not be used after a successful ROM upgrade. 7. A device backup for a particular ROM version may not be compatible with a new ROM version, therefore Compaq recommends performing a device backup directly after a ROM upgrade. 8. If an error occurs during the installation of the ROM Upgrade Utility, follow the instructions displayed in the error dialog box. 9. If you try to install or restore a ROM image that is not compatible with your iPAQ Pocket PC, such as installing a French image on an English language unit, you will receive an error message. You will be required to go back and select another ROM image. 10. To launch the ROM Upgrade Utility manually, double-click on the file name UpgradeUt.exe. 11. After a successful ROM Upgrade, all hardware Buttons assignment will be returned to the default setting.
