제가 iPAQ 3950을 쓰는 상태에서 2003으로 업을 해서 기억을 되살리자면.. 흠.. 말로 쓰기는 힘들군요...
결론은, 설명서대로 하면 됩니다. 넘 간단했나..?
설명서 순서대로 하면 되구요... 다만, 2003으로 업그레이드하면 롬 자체를 엎어 쓰기 때문에 iPAQ Store 까지 다 날아 가니까, 필요한 자료가 있으면 꼭 Backup 해 두세요.. iPAQ Backup을 이용하면 안 되구요... Desktop 같은데로 파일을 옮겨 놓으세요... 꼭...

그래도 꼭 업그레이드 방법을 설명하자면
1. "power + 2버튼 + 4버튼 + 똥침"해서 Serial 모드로 바꾸시구요... 크래들에 꽂으면 USB 모드로 바뀝니다.
2. Desktop에서 실행중인 Active Sync를 죽입니다. (작업관리자 가셔서 WCESCOMM.exe" 죽이시면 됩니다.
3. romupdate.exe 를 실행합니다.
4. USB> 프롬프트 상태에서 "lnb nk.nb0" 입력하시면 롬을 업데이트합니다.
역시나 말로 설명하니까 어렵군요... 흠...

설명서 원문은 다음과 같을 겁니다.
Remove device from cradle and put in "Serial Mode."
To do this, press the POWER button, button 2, button 4 and the software reset button at the same time.
A bootloader screen should appear with the words "Serial" in the top center of the screen.
Replace the device in the cradle.
It should detect if you have USB or Serial and switch to the appropriate connection type.
If you are using USB, the device should have "USB" in the top center of the screen.
You must stop Activesync.
To do this, check your running processes and kill WCESCOMM.EXE.
(There is some satisfaction when killing activestink)
Execute "romupdate" from the same directory as the nk.nb0 files is in.
The first screen that pops up is the serial port configuration screen.
If you have your cradle connected with the USB, use the drop-down box and change the COM port to \\\WCEUSBSH001.
Do not change anything else on the screen and hit OK.
(If you don't see this option then you probably didn't kill Activesync).
This should take you to a terminal screen.
Hit <RETURN> a couple of times and you should see the USB prompt.
To update the ROM, type "LNB nk.nb0" at the USB prompt.
The upload should start and you should see asterisks and some sort of symbol.
It will let you know when it is finished.
